Pune: The nationwide youth outreach movement “Chhatron Ki Goonj, Desh Ki Goonj,” led by Rahul Gandhi, will arrive in Pune on August 22 with its first-ever all-girls edition at AISSMS College of Engineering.

The Pune programme will focus on issues affecting young women, including education, employment, equal opportunities, safety, independence, representation and their aspirations for the future.The evening will feature live performances by Asees Kaur, Saniya MQ and Team DanceX, followed by an interaction and address by Rahul Gandhi.

The movement began in Kota on June 17, where it focused on paper leaks, examination irregularities and concerns within the education system. It has since expanded its focus to employment, job opportunities and wider concerns affecting the future of young Indians.

Previous editions in Kota, Dehradun and Prayagraj featured performances by artists including Lashcurry, Karma, Abhishek Walia, Dakait and MC Altaf, alongside direct engagement with students.

The campaign has also encountered logistical challenges. In Kota, organisers faced multiple permission cancellations and last-minute venue changes. In Dehradun, permission for the original venue was withdrawn shortly before the event, resulting in the programme being shifted to Banu School Ground. In Prayagraj, permission for KP Ground was withdrawn shortly before the programme, while water was reportedly released onto the ground in an attempt to disrupt the event.

Despite these hurdles, the organisers said the programmes continued to draw strong participation from young audiences.With the Pune edition, the movement is shifting its spotlight specifically to the voices and concerns of young women, marking a new phase in its nationwide youth outreach.
